A recent survey commissioned by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has discovered an attractive smile has the biggest impact on creating a positive first impression in both work and personal situations.
The survey found that nearly half of American adults – 48 percent – believe that a smile is the most memorable feature after first meeting someone. This compares to only 9 percent of adults who said they would be likely to remember a person’s clothes and only 8 percent who said they would remember the way a person smelled.
The survey also revealed that people with crooked or stained teeth are viewed as less attractive (37 percent) and less confident (25 percent) than those with perfect teeth. Other recent studies show that bad teeth can even prevent otherwise qualified candidates from getting jobs or promotions.
“Whether it’s face to face or online in social media, you really do get only one chance to make a positive first impression,” says Dr. Thomas Hadaegh. “Our cosmetic dental practice is dedicated to bringing out your healthiest, most beautiful smile, which can make your life easier, whether you’re looking for a new job or searching for a new relationship.”
